Great stay

Well appointed rooms with relaxing bar area and restaurant. Friendly staff happy to help at all times. Good value for money stay. Great stay at the hotel

Lovely stay in a beautiful place
A wonderful hotel with really lovely staff, they couldn't do enough for us and we were really appreciative of their efforts. The room was large, comfortable and clean. It was lovely waking up to the baaing of sheep from the next field! The food (both at the hotel breakfast and the meals in the restaurant) was fab, and there's a nice little bar to relax in at the end of the day. Great location - lovely, modern and bright!
Lovely new decor, fresh modern room with really nice furnishings. On the 2nd night - guests above my room were very noisy. Seemed several people chatting and laughing in one room until around midnight! Just wish there had been a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries instead of having to put the toilet seat lid down to place my make up bag on! Shame as the mirror with the light and small close up area was brilliant! Lovely hotel. Picked it because of the great reviews and it was an excellent location for us. Very nice facilities, the rooms were a good size and everything was clean. Great hotel, fantastic room, lovely staff.
We booked this room as a last minute thing as we were let down by our original accommodation & wow what a hidden gem this place is! ROOM For our stay we booked a superior double room. We were allocated room 2 which can be found on the ground floor. The room came with the following - - Shower gel & shampoos - Tea & coffee making facilities - Biscuits - Towels - TV - WiFi Both sides of the bed also have plug sockets which is a massive plus! The bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is situated on a busy road which you can hear if the window is open but you can’t if the window is closed. They do provide a fan for the room so you don’t need to open the window if you are hot. FOOD During our stay we only visited the restaurant once & that was for an evening meal. I can highly recommend the roasted chicken linguini & the Cumberland sausage. (TIP id certainly book a table as the restaurant always seemed busy). HOTEL & LOCATION The hotel is spotlessly clean & tidy. There is plenty of seating in the hotel if you fancy taking some time out to read or work. There is bar with a variety of cakes available to purchase. The location of the hotel is on the A595. The hotel can we hard to find as the sat nav will try to send you through fields as we found!! The hotel itself is only 9 minutes from Cockermouth, where we found some fantastic restaurants which I have written in my tips sections at the bottom of this post. STAFF All the staff we had any interactions were really friendly, welcoming & helpful. OVERALL Overall this hotel was fantastic & we couldn’t find anything to complain about. If we are ever in the area again & need a place to stay id book this place in a heartbeat. As I always mention on my reviews, I am a fussy bugger but I am always fair & honest. Nice hotel with lovely staff
Lovely hotel, nice decor, very friendly staff who helped us amend our reservation at short notice..also, the Restaurant served lovely food.. but we were disappointed with the size of our bed, we booked a classic king room but the bed was barely a double and had only 2 pillows.. A well earned night away.
The bedrooms are lovely and clean and have everything in you need. The Bar and Restaurant were also fabulous. The food was excellent and all the staff from on the reception desk to serving behind the bar and the breakfast were all lovely and friendly and chatty and always smiling.
